I just can’t get enough…words

I’ve got a big old case of writer’s block. Not exactly exciting news to share but there it is. The truth.

To be honest, I know the reason. I haven’t been focusing on blogging these past few months. Somehow I’ve let life get in the way of getting words down on the page screen. Doh.

A blogging best practice is to plan your posts. Create an editorial calendar and build up a pool of literary wonder that you can share at the click of a button. Well I’ve got lots of article ideas but no inspiration. The result is half-finished posts that aren’t going anywhere.

Before you think I’m complaining or worse, a lazy blogger, let me first say that I know you need to put the time in and I haven’t been that dedicated lately. Life is supposed to slow down in the summer but for me it feels like it’s sped up. Seriously, I think this is the busiest summer I’ve had since the summer I got married.

So I’m taking my queues from Christine and Brie who in their session at the Social Capital Conference on ‘the art of writing’ said to just write. Write and write and write until you find the words. Wish me luck.

How do you combat writer’s block? What are your sources of “word-spiration”?

you are not lazy at all. I finally posted for the first time in 4 months. And trust me it wasn’t because I was lazy πŸ™‚ Funny enough, I took the same inspiration from Christine and Brie, and I finally punched a post out.

Ha! Thanks Chantal, your words make me feel better. Those two ladies are smart, aren’t they? πŸ™‚

I combat writer’s block with bite-sized candy and lots of caffeine. I only wish I was kidding.

Alison, I’ll have to try that since my chocolate addiction isn’t helping me lately. πŸ™‚ Thanks for commenting!

A couple of my favorites are “serendipity” and “magnificent”. Perhaps you should try using those. I know a few others, if you need more.

LOL – Mike, those are great words! I’ll try and craft a blog post that is magnificent by a fortunate stroke of serendipity. πŸ˜€
